About Carolyn Boss

A successful business woman, mother of three children, and a resident of the Branson Community for five years, Carolyn Boss wants the best education for her children and all children of the Branson School District.

Carolyn Boss is running for the school board to promote quality educational standards for each individual student. She is an advocate for increase in teacher’s salary, safety standards for each students, teachers and administrators, making our schools drug-free, and growing the graduation completion rate.  Public education should be the place where learning is available to all and a fountain of learning for all segments of community: public, private and the home schooling community.

Carolyn Boss is opposed to common core. The standardization of education should not be a federal mandate nor a “one size fits all” solution.  Instead, we should empower teachers and “let teachers teach” by integrating their unique, individual abilities and passions into their classrooms to help each child succeed.   Every child is important and learns individually.  Teachers should be enabled create an environment where students are inspired to be lifelong learners and contributors to their community.  Teachers are the cornerstone of the community and should be compensated on how important their roles are.

Carolyn Boss has shared learning backgrounds in public education, private education and home school education.  She believes that the integration of the three educational styles has a viable place in both the traditional and not traditional learning environments for all students.  Bringing together the best techniques with the best teachers to accelerate learning in students that seek to advance or the specialized needs for an individual student is the way to bring greater educational success.

Carolyn Boss’ career experience includes owning a business for more than 17 years and serving three years on the board of directors for the National Tour Association and with the Student Youth Travel Association.  Her time on national boards has given her experience in leadership and innovation.

On a local level, Carolyn Boss served two years as the 2015-2016 Sports Chair for the Branson Convention and Visitor’s Bureau and has volunteered in numerous positions in the community.
